Tahitensis Vanilla Beans, 5 ct
Hand-pollinated Okinawan Tahitensis vanilla.
How this vanilla is made — and by whom.
The northernmost vanilla farm in the world, growing Tahitensis vanilla in subtropical Ishigaki greenhouses. Hand-pollinated and cured for 14 months on bamboo racks.
Okinawa — the old country around Ishigaki, where the soil, weather, and water shape what comes out of the ground. This product can only taste the way it does because it's from here, and nowhere else.
Grown on smallholder plots, sun-dried on woven mats in the village square, and hand-sorted by the women of the cooperative before being sealed for the journey.
Harvested after the rains and sun-dried through winter; freshest lots land between November and January.
Five large Tahitensis vanilla beans, hand-pollinated and cured 14 months in Ishigaki. Cherry, anise, and floral notes. Plump and pliable.
